This award-winning modern estate at the heart of of Silicon Valley in Los Altos Hills, California features a minimalist futuristic design with a sci-fi vibe.
M. Designs Architects designed the 10,000-square-foot ultramodern smart home that The Wall Street Journal calls “a very abstracted version of the Starship Enterprise”.
The centerpiece of the home is a cantilevered circular glass dining area that floats on top of the lap pool. A hydraulic moving glass curtain wall opens up like an aircraft hangar door, blending the outdoors with the indoors.
The swimming pool in the basement is made of mosaic tiles with image of Michaelangelo’s “Hands of God”.
A curved stainless steel staircase with glass sides wraps around the circular glass elevator. A glass and stainless steel bridge joins the two spaces on the upper level.
The minimalist kitchen has a nineteen-foot kitchen island with pop up spice cabinet. The back splash can be lowered to reveal the appliance cabinet which can be hidden when not in use.
