Perched on the shores of Lake George at Bolton Landing, New York in the Adirondack Mountains, The Sagamore Resort is an elegant nod to a bygone era.
This sprawling summer paradise with picturesque setting on a private island was originally opened in 1883. The resort has since been restored and rebuilt multiple times throughout history.
The hotel by the lake today is The Sagamore’s third incarnation. It was rebuilt in the 1920s in the Colonial Revival style, and reflects the grandeur of its original Victorian architecture.
Inspiring architectural details include a central tower with classic cupola and widow’s walk, and a colonnaded covered terrace facing the lake flanked by two wings on each end.
