This elegant Colonial style cottage in Atlanta, Georgia has been completely renovated and streamlined while respecting its original architecture.
Greg Busch Architects, builder Garmon Properties and Carson McElheney Landscape Architecture worked on redesigning the structure and landscaping of the house.
The stately architectural details of the original home, including its elegant columns, dormers and dentil trim were refreshed. The brick walls and new shutters were given a tonal scheme of warm white paint colors.
Inside the home, interior designer Andrea Henzlik Design created a timeless subtle mix of traditional and modern. A modern glass-and-steel front door lightened the narrow foyer. The kitchen retains its floor-to-ceiling cabinetry and coffered ceiling.
The reimagined landscaping is an important part of the home’s character. A classic palette of gardenias, hydrangeas, popcorn viburnum, styrax and Southern magnolias offers beautiful layers of green and white. A new garden gate was directly inspired by the architecture of the house.
