Hacienda del Carnero is a modern reimagining of a Spanish style ranch in La Quinta, California. The site is surrounded by desert landscape with views of the golf course and Santa Rosa Mountains beyond.
Designed by Schaffner Architect in collaboration with Design Repertoire, the home features traditional elements such as plasterwork, pillow-cut limestone, reclaimed brick and wood. Black steel details such as the floor-to-ceiling windows let the contemporary element to contrast with the old world feel of the architecture.
The front chimney evokes the Spanish Revival look that creates a welcoming entry to the house.
The open plan is punctuated by two enclosed courtyards and a spacious patio. The dining room opens to uninterrupted vistas of the mountains.
The focal point o the home is the central courtyard which has a bright blue zero-edge pool, creating a private oasis in the desert environment.
