Architect Ole Scheeren was commissioned to design 1,040 apartment units over 20 acres in Singapore. The result is an awe-inspiring radical reinterpretation of contemporary life in a community.
Instead of the conventional high rises, Scheeren created 31 apartment blocks, each six stories tall, stacked in a hexagonal arrangement around eight generous courtyards. The contemporary village has a variety of public amenities interwoven into the landscape including an Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis courts and barbeque areas.
