This oceanfront mediterranean home in La Jolla, San Diego, California is a family retreat that offers modern comfort. A welcoming courtyard greets you as one enters through an exterior antique door.
The transformation project by Island Architects and Chris Barrett Design modernized the beach house while retaining the original aesthetic of its Spanish Colonial architecture.
The living area opens onto the courtyard on one side and looks out onto the Pacific Ocean on the other. Reclaimed wood ceiling beams and oak floors add to its vintage character. There are also Moorish touches throughout the home such as tiles in the kitchen and bathroom.
