Architect Pedro Quintela found a stone ruin in the village of Malveira da Serra, Alcabideche, Portugal and transformed it into a unique Hug Shaped House which embraces its landscape.
The original spirit of the place was preserved by using local materials such as pine and granite in addition to the stone walls and materials found on the site. The result was a 130 sqm (1,400 sq. ft.) cozy home with a courtyard and beautiful rustic interior spaces.
