Actor Pierce Brosnan, renowned for his portrayal of 007, has built a dream retreat in Malibu, California, sprawling across an acre of pristine oceanfront.
Located on Broad Beach, the breathtaking property, known as “Orchid House”, comprises a main residence, a guest house, wrap-around lanais and tranquil courtyards.
Brosnan and his wife commissioned architects Ralph & Ross Anderson to design a home influenced by Brosnan’s filming experiences in Thailand for the James Bond movie “Tomorrow Never Dies.”
Captivated by the vibrant colors and intricate designs typical of Thai architecture, the couple infused the residence with Southeast Asian charm.
Spanning 12,500 square feet, the abode boasts five bedrooms and fourteen bathrooms, distinguished by its peaked roof adorned with verdant clay tiles reminiscent of the Thai landscape.
Inside, handcrafted woodwork, wide-plank teak floors, and sweeping vistas of the ocean foster an atmosphere of quiet elegance.
The estate also features a man-made private beach in the backyard, saltwater pool with a waterfall, and lush tropical gardens brimming with palm trees, orchids, hibiscus, and exotic blooms, creating a serene oasis.
