Featured in the opening shot of Elvis Presley’s movie Fun in Acapulco, Hotel Boca Chica in Acapulco, Mexico has been restored to its original 1950’s chic.
Boutique hotel chain Grupo Habita enlisted design team Frida Escobedo and José Rojas as well as artist Claudia Fernandez for the renovation project. The 36-room hotel with midcentury modern interior decor has strong geometric forms, clean lines and a white palette with pops of vintage green. The revival brought back tropical luxury with old Hollywood atmosphere.
