Perched over the coastline in Bellingham, Washington, this Pacific Northwest Style modern home is situated on a heavily wooded cliff site with breathtaking views of the San Juan Islands.
The 1,400 square foot house was designed by The Miller Hull Partnership, and was awarded an American Institute of Architects Housing Award.
The design concept combines a long, gently sloping roof containing the entry, kitchen and studio with a vertical tower housing the living room and master bedroom above. The exterior materials palette features standing seam metal roofs, painted cedar siding and natural colored cement board siding.
The house was designed to celebrate its natural setting, and the dramatic forest and water views.
