Located on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California, this modernist home is a stunning piece of art. The dramatic beachfront property features walls of glass facing the Pacific Ocean.
Originally designed by award-winning architectural firm Buff & Hensman in 1976, the house was recently renovated by Landry Design Group to suit the 21st century.
The front façade of the house — which faces the noisy highway — is windowless, providing privacy and acts as an artistic sound buffer.
A courtyard with water feature behind the main entrance pays homage to the ocean waves.
The sail-like form — reminiscent of a yacht’s spinnaker — is repeated in the back façade which features large floor-to-ceiling windows that take advantage of views of the beach and ocean.
