This modern home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is a collection of gabled pavilions set on a 38-acre woodland. The estate also functions as an entertaining venue for charitable fundraisers, sponsored orchestral events and business meetings for up to 250 people both inside and outside.
The sprawling 17,000 sq. ft. property was designed by Akar ARchiTecture. The aesthetic of the structures is modern and majestic yet intimate. A long art gallery passage links various public and private pavilions.
A formal entry courtyard defines the public spaces. The pool pavilion features a rectangular lap pool. A series of terraces, smaller private courtyards, private pavilions and a lower level outdoor amphitheatre overlook the pond and woods.
